PREGNANCY & CHILDBIRTH DOULA SUPPORT PACKAGE

  1. Three Virtual or In-Person Prenatal Sessions: Establish a written birth and postpartum plan, review common pregnancy diagnosis, review birth preferences, discuss medical interventions - risk, benefits, and alternatives etc..

  2. One Nutrition Consult: The start of a healthy pregnancy paves the way for a safe and healthy birth. Nutrition Consults are to counsel families on the key nutrients, supplements, and factors to support and prepare for a healthy pregnancy, safe and short labor, hemorrhage free delivery, and safe postpartum transition. 

  3. Childbirth Education Class: In the comfort on your home in-person or virtual via Zoom Meetings. During this class our birth team will help build your confidence in your body’s ability to give birth. Engage your partner by offering education on how to support the "birthing person" on the big day. We encourage families to discuss their fears about labor and birth with our childbirth instructor. 

  4. Breastfeeding Education Class: Conducted in the comfort of your home in-person or virtual with one of our Certified Lactation Consultants. You will receive Evidence-Based Education & Support during pregnancy to prepare you for a successful breastfeeding journey.

  5. On-Call Support: Unlimited on-call support via text/call/video starting at 37 weeks. Your doula will be available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns related to your pregnancy or laboring progress etc. 

  6. Weekly/Daily Education: Receive Evidence-Based Birth Education & Information. Access to Spinning Babies, & DMV Birth Doulas Network Resources.

  7. Emotional Support: via call/text/facetime, offer coping strategies and alternatives to reduce stress, anxiety, and fear during pregnancy. 

  8. Unlimited Labor & Birth Support: at your home prior to arriving at the hospital: Once in labor, your doula will be available 24/7 for virtual and in-person support up until two hours postpartum. 

  9. Virtual Labor & Birth Support: Once arrived to the hospital, communication via facetime or call will begin up until one hour after birth if your hospital is not allowing more than one support person. 

  10. Two In-Person Postpartum Visits: One visit 24 hours after hospital discharge, and another visit two weeks after birth to reflect on your birthing experience, address concerns about breastfeeding, newborn care etc.  

  11. One In-Person Lactation Support: Support from one of our Certified Lactation Consultants. Newborn Assessment, Latch Assessment, Evidence Based Education and support from one of our Certified Lactation Counselors.

HOME BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT PACKAGE

This package is available to families desiring in-person support for a home birth.

  1. Three In-Person Prenatal Sessions: Establish a written birth and postpartum plan, review common pregnancy diagnosis, discuss medical interventions - risk, benefits, and alternatives etc..

  2. One Nutrition Consult: The start of a healthy pregnancy paves the way for a safe and healthy birth. Nutrition Consults are to counsel families on the key nutrients, supplements, and factors to support and prepare for a healthy pregnancy, safe and short labor, hemorrhage free delivery, and safe postpartum transition. 

  3. On-Call Support: Unlimited on-call support via text/call/video starting at 36 weeks. Your doula will be available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns related to your pregnancy or laboring progress etc. 

  4. Childbirth Education Class: In-person session taking place in the comfort of your own home. This class is recommended for moms desiring an un-medicated birth or first time parents.

  5. Home Birth Preparation Class: In-person session taking place in the comfort of your home to effectively prepare you for a home birth, and what to expect.

  6. Breastfeeding Education Class: In-Person or Virtual session with one of our Certified Lactation Consultants during pregnancy to prepare you for a successful breastfeeding journey. 

  7. Referrals, Resources, Weekly/Daily Education: Receive Evidence-Based Birth Education & Information. Access to Spinning Babies Resources. Referrals to Home birth Midwives, Birth Centers and other care providers in reference to prenatal or postnatal care.

  8. Unmedicated Birth Support:  review comfort measures methods and techniques, breathing techniques, affirmations etc. 

  9. Unlimited Labor & Birth Support: Once Labor has begun, the doula will assist with early labor management via virtual platform until family requests the doula's presence. Support throughout labor until two hours postpartum.

  10. Two Postpartum Home Visits: One visit 24 hours after birth and another visit two weeks after birth to assist with breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, newborn care, meal prep and light housekeeping duties. 

  11. Certified Breastfeeding Evaluation: To take place 24 hours after birth to discuss your concerns, and fears.  Assessment, and Support from our Certified Breastfeeding Consultant.

  12. Belly Binding: To be done immediately after birth, or at the request of the birthing person.

IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL CESAREAN BIRTH PLANNING

Cesarean Sections known as C-sections is the process of birthing via the belly in a sterile operating room with the help of of an OBGYN Doctor, Anesthesiologist,  Surgical First Assist, Surgical Technologist, L&D Nurses, Circulating Nurse, Neonatologist, and NICU Nurse. 

      Our three hour in-person and/or virtual preparation class will prepare expectant families for

  1. Planned Cesarean Birth. 

  2. Operating Room Team & Sterility Protocols. 

  3. Cesarean Birth Preferences & Wishes.

  4.  Cesarean Birth (Risk, Benefits, Alternatives)

  5. What to expect during Pre-op & Post-op process.

  6. Common complications after a c-section.

  7. Postpartum Hemorrhage Education & Prevention

  8. Partner/Spouse Education & Materials.

  9. Skin-to-Skin during a Cesarean. 

  10. Cesarean Incision Care.

  11. Cesarean Birth Recovery.

Natural Birth AKA unmedicated birth is the process of giving birth without the use of medications and little to no interventions. Natural birth is possible, but preparation is the key to preparing mentally, physically, and emotionally.
