MEET NIKITA JOHNSON

CEO/FOUNDER - AGENCY OWNER

Nikita Johnson, Student Midwife, Certified OB Surgical Technologist(COBST), Certified Doula (CD), Doula Trainer (DT), Labor Coach (LC), Fertility Advocate, Patient Care Technician (PCT), and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) has six years of Labor and Delivery experience. She has assisted OB's and Midwives throughout the DMV with over 300+ Vaginal Births and 150+ Cesarean Births and various Gynecology Surgical Procedures including Myomectomies, (Fibroid Removal), D&C's, and Hysterectomies.

Our Childbirth Doula Practice is the first Black-Owned Full Spectrum Agency located in Baltimore County, Maryland servicing Washington DC, Northern Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Central Pennsylvania and Baltimore + Surrounding Counties.

This agency was formed to be an informative expert resource within the community relevant to fertility, infertility, childbirth, and postpartum transition. Our doulas are fighting to help decrease maternal mortality rates, obstetric bullying, and traumatic births. We strive to protect the birth space of our expectant mothers and their families by ensuring of an informed, fearless and empowered birthing experience.

Our team of doulas work in a variety of settings including home births, hospitals, and birth centers. We have specialized training and experience to support VBAC's, HBAC's, High Risk Pregnancies, Twin/Multiple Gestation, Plus Size Moms, and Surrogates. Additional services offered include, Postpartum Support Services, Lactation Support, Childbirth Education, Placenta Services, Baby Gear Support, and Belly Binding.

DMV Birth Doulas, LLC is dedicated and committed to providing top-notch quality pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care to families and pregnant individuals.

This time of change comes with both joy and challenges and can be confusing or overwhelming. We offer pregnancy, labor and birth doula services to help you prepare and make this time more enjoyable and less of a mystery. During your initial phone consultation, you will speak with the CEO/Director of Labor and Birth Services - Nikita Johnson about our relevant training and experience, how many families we've supported, and our approach.

After your phone consultation you will be able to request an interview with the doula of your choice to see if she would be a great addition to your birth team. When the match is right your doula will be an important part of your journey into motherhood. You will have her at your fingertips via phone and text from the moment you hire her. Whenever a question comes up, you can ask her, especially if it's not something medical, but you are just curious, are wondering about something, or just want to talk about birth, breasts or babies, she is there for you.

During labor and birth your doula will serve as your labor buddy, offering emotional, physical comfort, mental support and holding space for you (and your partner) to let the process unfold. She will be your guide in navigating the process, communicating with your birth team and gathering information so you can make informed decisions that are right for you. DMV Birth Doulas do not have an agenda for your birth and we support all pregnant individuals and families to help prepare for a home birth or a hospital birth, an un-medicated birth, planned epidural, or planned cesarean or any other kind of birth.

Our only goal is to support you and your partner, and empower you to make decisions that are right for you and your situation.

Once you go into labor you will be in close contact with your doula until it is time for her to join you, at home, at the hospital, or at birthing center. She will stay with you until you and baby are settled and ready for quiet time together as a new family. 72 hours after birth you will receive education and support from one of our Certified Lactation Consultants in-home to ensure of a safe , healthy, breastfeeding journey. After the birth there is 24/7 phone/text support for the first 14 days and there will be two postpartum visits in your home.
